Renée Rapp keeps promoting the “Mean Girls” movie after two weeks on the cinema. This time, the artist has visited the first Saturday Night Live of the year to participate in some humor sketches and performing some of the movie soundtrack.
In the movie “Mean Girls,” Renée plays the iconic character Regina George, previously played by actress Rachel McAdams. The film premiered on January 11 and the actresses from the 2004 films attended the premiere. Although Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert went to see the film, until now there was no sign of Rachel McAdams.
On his side, the “Saltburn” actor, Jacob Elordi, was chosen to present the show and performed also in some sketches and games. One of them was a funny sketch about “professional lip-readers”. Elordi explained, “We pick up on extremely subtle lip movements and body language to decipher exactly what someone might be saying”.
Bowen Yang (co-presenter) and the actor fail to guess the lips of celebs like Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner and Jennifer Lawrence. Then they look for the help of their “little lesbian intern Renée”, who shows her skills by guessing Kristin VanOrman and Gwyneth Paltrow.
After that, Rachel McAdams surprisingly appears on the screen to presents the singer and now co-actress of the character of Regina George. Renée Rapp took the stage and performed “Snow Angel” from her same-titled album that came out last year’s August 18. The singer also invited the rapper Megan Thee Stallion to perform their “Mean Girls” collaboration called “Not my fault”.
It didn’t take long for that moment to go viral on social networks. After the controversy o Rachel McAdams for not having attended the premiere, her appearance to introduce her successor was a complete surprise. Renée was the queen of the night in a program with a tireless and entertaining rhythm.
