One year ago Rolls-Royce revealed the first Boat Tail, the most expensive car in the world, 20 million $, and now the British company has shown the second one. This two cars are a project of the automaker to fabricate three cars for three different multimillionaires, each one customized by the owner and with a personal story behind.
This second car, the Boat Tail II, is for a pearl industry business owner. Rolls-Royce has said that this person is a classic cars collector that exhibits them in a private museum, and has inspired in his father story to design this car, and the pearl company that he had. For example, the front of the car has been painted with a tonality that comes from the fusion of four pearl’s shells that belongs to the customer: oyster colour, pink, bronze and mica white.
The company has said that “it is one of the most complicated colours created by the mark ever”. The bodywork has a cognac colour in the bonnet with gold, bronze and matte. The back is the part of the car that express the nautical inspiration, it is made with walnut plated in pink gold, the same colour as the Ecstasy Spirit statue. The inside follows the same colours and materials.
As the first version, this car measures 5.3 meters, and has a moving back cover with a picnic’s kit that has chairs, parasol, fridge and a refined cutlery. This car will be exposed in Italy, in the Como Lake, during the celebration of the Elegance Contest of Villa D’Este. Only one person will have fun with this car, but the owner will be probably revealed during the contest, and if he has a museum, probably all the people that want to see this car, will be able to do it sooner or later.
