Life in Hogwarts for Rupert Grint was not as fun as seen in the films
Ruppert Grint, known for playing Ron Weasley in Harry Potter, does not like public life. The actor spent 11 years of his life, from 11 to 22, being one of the main characters of the saga. After this he wanted to withdraw a little from the media although this has not caused him to leave his professional career. After the role of Ron, he appeared in the series Servant and has recently made a film entitled Knock at the cabin. In his private life he has also been successful, he is the father of a girl named Wednesday, because of the Adams family.
On the occasion of a possible reboot, Ruppert has confessed to Bustle what was really his experience at Hogwarts. Contrary to what most people think, he does not remember it as a beautiful time. Having participated in one of the world’s most famous movie sagas as as a child is not as easy as it seems. 12 years after the last film he narrated that there were moments during the filming in which he did not know at what point he was different from his character. He says that he wanted to stand out and felt that he was playing himself, he joined Ron too much.
The actor has not hesitated to share some other details about those years. ‘It was quite suffocating. The film was being recorded for a whole year and we were on promotion for the rest of the time. I wanted to take a break, reflect on everything… It was like being out of myself for a while, but I think we ended up at the right time. If we had continued, It could have gone downhill,” explains Grint. For 11 years he lived only for Harry Potter and that took his toll. It turns out that at some point during filming he even considered leaving the world of acting because he was so overwhelmed.
Grint has always felt that after the saga the media and the fans have been constantly comparing him to their peers. Although they are different people and each one has followed in a different way their professional career they always looked at what he was doing and what Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe were doing.
Probably these were the reasons why as soon as he finished with the films written by J.K. Rowling, Ruppert preferred to stay away from fame. Anyway he still decided to participate in the Harry Potter meeting that took place last year for HBO MAX. The actor has explained for the same medium that “it is always good to look back” and that he likes to spend time with his former colleagues.
