Sabrina Carpenter sorprise fans with “Feather” music video 

Sabrina has wanted to give her fans a little surprise for this year’s Halloween. Yesterday night she announced on her Instagram that there would be a music video published on her YouTube channel tonight. She also thanked her fans for showing love to that song and said that was the best way to return the love.  

The song “Feather” was included in her album “Emails I can’t send fwd:”, the deluxe version of “Emails I can’t send”. This was her fifth studio album and has set her as one of the surprises of the year and consolidated her as one of the most famous and streamed singers of 2023.  

With this album Sabrina Carpenter makes reference to a technique of writing down the things you wish to say or do soy you can relieve your emotions, but never send those. We surely have wanted to send a text to someone that was a bad idea, it’s a relatable feeling.  

Besides that, on the album Sabrina talk about a toxic relationship she can’t escape in songs like “Already over”. She meditate about her feelings and her self-esteem, for example on “Decode” or “How many things”. She even shows a sexy part of her with dancy sings like “Bet u wanna”. 

This album came in a really controversial moment for her. After Olivia Rodrigo’s debut album “SOUR” the light went on that “blonde girl” she talked about. Is not a secret both of the girls dated Joshua Bassett so, when “Driver’s license” came out everybody turned to critic Sabrina with misogynists comments.  

On the album, Sabrina talk about that on “Because i liked a boy”, the first single published last year. On it she narrates the story of that love and how everything went down when they had already broken up.  

With this album success, she decided to put out a deluxe version on March 17 with 4 more songs, being “Feather” one of them alongside “Opposite”, “Lonesome” and “Things I wish you said”. And had published music videos for “Nosense”, “Because i liked a boy”, “Fast times” and “Skinny dipping”. After the release “Feather” turned one of the fans favorite because of the freedom feeling and the contagious rhythm. 

With this surprise Sabrina may be closing the “emails era”. On the music video we attend a funeral with a grave with “he was just ok” wrote on it. She’s finally weightless without him. The images of the church alternates with other moments of her having to be followed by boys, taking photos at her curves, touching her and annoying her constantly. With her stunning clothes, the high heels and golden hair she’s experimenting moments relatable surely for every woman out there. On that situations Sabrina ends up killing that boys in some different ways. The song as the music video have a freedom and relief feeling that make you move.  

Thanks to this album, exquisitely written in collaboration with celebrities like Julia Michaels and John Ryan, she has got a lot. She has been the opening act on Taylor Swift’s “The eras tour” in south america, she’s performed on the VMAs, done a world tour…  

Sabrina really is starting to be a superstar. Although she had already worked on Disney Channel’s shows and published albums before, It’s officially Sabrina’s best professional moment. Now, all we have to do is wait, support her and watch her success and keep growing as a singer, as a star and as a person.
