The Colombian singer performed one of the most anticipated shows at the Oscars 2022 gala. Yatra burst into tears after his performance of “Dos oruguitas“, a song from the soundtrack of the movie Encanto. In addition, he drew attention from his first steps on the red carpet for the pink tuxedo he was wearing, which divided his fans.
The impressive performance of one of the most internationally recognized artists left the attendees of the 94th annual Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles mesmerized. The ballad was nominated for the Oscar for Disney’s animated film Encanto and despite being one of the favorites, it did not win the award.
Yatra also makes history by becoming the first Colombian artist to be present at an Oscar gala. He honored his home country by wearing a custom-made suit by acclaimed Colombian designer Esteban Cortázar and Christian Louboutin shoes. He showed off that look during the performance. However, for the red carpet, the successful singer-songwriter wore a tuxedo that unleashed the passions of many of his fans for its striking color.
The chart-topping artist teamed up with Jeremy Scott to design a pink tuxedo for the red carpet. From Moschino this tuxedo featured satin lapels and a smoking shirt, matching vest and cummerbund, combined with a satin bow tie. To complete this look, a luxurious Cartier signature watch gleamed on his wrist.
“This is going to take me a while to assimilate… Thanks to everyone who accompanied me public in his social networks in a publication where he appears crying after his performance. The surrounded by his team and also thanks the Encanto movie and Disney for having let participate in this project.
Sebastian Yatra is conquering the hearts of all those who listen to him and enjoy his greatest hits. The artist is on a steady upward trajectory in global airplay and radio with his feel-good music. His new album “Dharma” is climbing all the charts and he will soon hit the road on his 22-date tour in the United States and Canada on the “Dharma World Tour“.
