Selena Gómez, after the publication of her documentary “My Mind & Me” last November, has spoken again about her relationship with Justin Bieber
The famous intermittent relationship between Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber between 2011 and 2018 is known worldwide as Jelena. This teenage relationship came to an end when the singer decided to marry model Hailey Baldwin, who was friends with Gomez.
Yet, now, long after their end, they are revealing many of the secrets that led to their breakup. The conversation has resurfaced after in her documentary, “My Mind & Me”, the singer commented on her courtship that “Everything was too public. I felt chased by a past relationship that nobody wanted to leave behind. Then I just got over it and I wasn’t afraid anymore”.
This month has gone viral in TikTok a video composed of photographs of Selena at the time she was dating singer Justin Bieber. In the images you can see that the actress was too thin at the time. That video got even more views when on Instagram a fan of the interpreter of “The heart wants what it wants” published a message in response to a photo of Selena. The girl in it wrote that “Justin Bieber really screwed up” referring to the fact that she thought he had made a mistake leaving her because the singer was very beautiful in the photo. To this comment the 30-year-old actress did not hesitate to answer “No honey. He rather models, I am too normal”. With these words she made it clear that the Canadian only looked at beauty stereotypes.
Unsurprisingly, this message has flown around the world quickly. It is not the first time she talks about this subject referring to that to date Bieber had to undergo diets to be thin and meet the kind of girl he wanted. Because of this, and as shown in the TikTok video, the actress had constant weight changes during those years.
It is true that Selena had several years full of problems because of her relationship with the interpreter of “Baby” and for her bipolar disorder, but she herself now remembers it as something beneficial for her life. In her documentary she has expressed that she had to live the worst possible heartbreak but that in the end it was the best thing that happened to her.
