SkyDrive shown during the CES 2022 celebrated in Las Vegas a better version of their flying vehicle that was called model SD-03. This flying vehicle was presented some months ago of the event as an “ultralight and compact flying vehicle”, and one of the innovations that have included is the zero emissions.
This vehicle is designed to take off and land vertically with an insane stability, and is made to be a zero emissions vehicle that permits a quick and safety transport to anywhere. Its dimensions is 4 meters long, 4 meters width and 2 meters high. It is equipped with electric engines that trigger the rotors, with four emplacements with two motors each other. The single-seating eVTOL has two pairs of helixes that move up when the vehicle takes off, like the little planes. It can achieve 50 km/h and ten minutes of autonomy.
The Operations Manager of the Japanese company, Tahekiro Sato, has said that “The SD-03 model is the zenith of our experience in drone and aerodynamics engineering technology. We want to see in the future that the SkyDrive zero emissions vehicles’ take off and land in their parking and heliports in the highest part of the buildings, making the aerial travels door by door in a realistic option to diary transport. We are working so hard and faster than ever to make this revolution of the mobility realistic, and those type of things only appears one time during a century”.
The company has said that they are working in the next model, the SD-05, that is expected to be shown during the International Exhibition of Osaka in 2025. They want making it an air taxi by 2025, and the Japanese Transport Minister has accepted the commercialization of this vehicle, so maybe the Japanese people could take an air taxi in 2025, if the development of the SD-05 is as good as they have predicted.
