Autavia is a name that has been in the watch since 1933, but it was in 1962 when a new line of sporty wristwatches that the name of Tag Heuer enter in the Autavia. So in the 60th anniversary Tag Heuer has made an Autavia pack with new technology but maintaining a classic design.
The first watch that Jack Heuer made when he reins in the mark was a chronograph. This new pack that includes three models, are based on that first model. Two of the are chronographs, one of them with an all black dial but with a blackened steel case, and the other in steel with a steel dial and black sub dials featured a new in house.
The principal novelty that this Autavia bring is that they have for the first time in an Autavia a flyback function. This flyback has been introduced to allow a user to restart the chronograph function instantaneously with the single press of a pusher without having to stop and restart it again, allowing consecutive lap times to be recorded with ease.
The third of this new Autavia line for the 60th anniversary is a major change for the Autavia models. It features another in house movement, the COSC certified Heuer Caliber 07, and it is a GMT watch, the first time that it appears on an Autavia model. It so different to the others chronographs because it does not have the classic chronograph sub dials of the others Autavia models, with a simpler, open dial in blue that features a second time zone indicated by an orange pointer.
