Taj Gibson has not taken long time to fin a team after being cut by the New York Knicks. As Sham Charania, a journalist from The Athletic, points out, the center will sign with the Washington Wizards as soon as he comes off the waivers list, altought the terms of the agreement have not yet been revealed.
According to Ian Begley, a journalist from SNY, the player had received interest from several teams since the start of the free agency, and finally he has opted for the capital. These will thus become the fifth Gibson franchise, which throughout his 13 seasons in the NBA has passed through Chicago, Minnesota, Oklahoma and New York in the past.
At 37 years old, Taj is already far from his best version, but he is still a veteran capable of contributing at specific moments, a performance that Wizards hope to benefit from, whose interior game does not exactly stand out for it´s solvency. In his last season with the Knocks, Gibson has just averaged 4.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in 18 minutes, and we will see if this change of scenery allows him to once against have a greater presence on his new team.
