The famous singer has been defamed with false images created with artificial intelligence on social networks
Taylor Swift has suffered an attack on her image on social media. The “Style” singer was used as the image of an experiment with artificial intelligence last Thursday the 25th.
Apparently, an X user (a social network formerly known as Twitter) shared an image of the singer Taylor Swift in a sexual tone that would have been generated by artificial intelligence and was viewed 47 million times.
Quickly in recent days, social networks were filled with users who found fake images where Swift appears completely naked in different scenarios, all of them linked to the Kansas City Chiefs football team, of which Travis Kelce – the singer’s boyfriend born in Pennsylvania – is one of the biggest stars.
According to the 404 Media portal, these photographs published and modified for malicious purposes come from a Telegram group. In this social network there are several places within which users share this type of explicit content and which apparently are mostly created using the Microsoft Designer tool.
In addition, the portal adds that this graphic material had been circulating for months on anonymous websites such as 4chan. However, it was not until their arrival in X that they gained media relevance.
Following these events, the leak has forced several social networks in addition to X, such as Instagram or Threads, to eliminate the possibility of searching for “Taylor Swift artificial intelligence.”
Over the past weekend, those who tried searching for it on the social network found an unusual result: a black page with a message that simply said, “Something went wrong. Try loading again.“
After instituting the search block, X‘s security team reminded that the publication of non-consensual nude images is strictly prohibited. Even so, the package of measures was incomplete since the images could still be accessed by changing the search term. The Twitter team needed the help of Swifties (fans of the singer) to identify, remove and report accounts that were spreading fake pornographic content of the “1989” singer.
Last Saturday, in the midst of the battle to stop Swift‘s images, Ellon Musk announced the creation of a new moderation center in Austin that will employ 100 people and will begin operating before the end of the year.
According to “El Mundo“, “the main task of the new division, which Musk has baptized as “Center of Excellence for Trust and Safety”, will above all be to scan the social network in search of images of sexual abuse of minors, a problem that affects to all social networks but that had become a scourge for Twitter. In 2023 alone, X suspended 12.4 million accounts for posting images and videos of child exploitation, including child sexual abuse”.
Taylor Swift is in the eye of the media and this success comes accompanied by hard and difficult moments like these personal ones. However, the power of the singer has been able to stop something that other users would not have achieved.
