The Australian singer has been two years working on his new album “The fist Time”. An album with 20 songs and that last 50 minutes approximately.
The Kid LAROI has to quit social media some months ago and take some time to focus on him and on what he wanted to do. But now that the album is out, he declared: “I feel so much more creative and motivated. So I’m glad I took some time off to figure it out because now we’re not stopping. There are no breaks this year. Or for a long time. This is my most vulnerable job yet, and I’m so grateful to be able to do it with my friends and the people I really love.
The album characterizes for his melodic rap style. We can find on it some songs closer to the rap version, like the album opening “SORRY”. If we keep listening we can also find some songs closer to the pop world like “BLEED”.
The album came out last November 10, but we have been able to listen to The Kid LAROI in some songs like ‘Thousand Miles‘ or, recently, ‘Too Much‘ with Jungkook, member of BTS, and Central Cee.
“I’ve had a lot of different experiences these last two years and life has been crazy. There is no album, song or lyric that can fully describe to you what it’s been like, but I hope this album gives you a little idea!” said the artist on his social media the day the album came out.
On his album we can enjoy the collaboration of other artists like Justin Bieber, which we can hear on one interlude or the ex member of BTS, Jung Kook. We can also hear Future, d4vd, YoungBoy or Central Cee.
The sound of the album is cohesive and constant. Sometimes surprising with the production or with the vocal work of the artist. The Kid LAROI has taken risks, been creative, different and has given everything his personal touch.
The lyrics are the most personal part of the album. On the words, he describes his feelings, mostly in the music industry. He also talks about love and relationships. Besides that, the personal problems are the recurrent topic on the album.
With this album The Kid LAROI has set himself as one of the most innovative, creative and representative artist this year.
The album reaches its emotional climax with “KIDS ARE GROWING UP.” In this closing, The Kid LAROI reflects on his own growing up and admits that at first he didn’t believe his words about the reality behind fame, but now, from his own position, he understands the truth behind those claims.
With the album, he has also published some singles. “WHAT JUST HAPPENED”, “TOO MUCH” featuring Jung Kook and Centra Cee were the first singles. Closer to the album release date, The Kid LAROI published “BLEED” music video.
Moreover, the “Stay” singer has published special visuals for each song on his YouTube channel. The visuals on these albums are rare, dark and extravagant. We can go from a motorbike accident to a girl with a knife and a mask. We can see fire and people drowning on water. This mixed visuals contrast with the music, sometimes slow and sweet, and sometimes harsh and explicit.
This second album, after “F*CK LOVE 3+: OVER YOU”, feels like the beginning of the artist. With this job, he has consolidated his figure as an international artist and set his personal style in the music industry. With “The First Time,” The Kid LAROI not only presents an album, but an immersive experience that will resonate with audiences.
His songs help you to feel closer with him, to know him a little more, to dive in his feelings and thoughts. All of this with some creative rhythms that moves you through your emotions. The simple piano contrast with the hard drums on another songs, making a cohesive story flown through the full album.
This week, The Kid LAROI has also announced the start of a tour to Australia. By the moment he has only put out 6 concerts on Australia next February. On Instagram, he showed his leg with the places tattooed on his skin. Also, on the post, he wrote “U.S. & Europe otw”. So we can expect him later soon, traveling the world.
With this album he reached nº2 on “Top Albums Debut Global” and the first one on the USA on Spotify. This work is his revival and set a new sound and visuals with his person that has consolidated The Kid LAROI as one of the international singers most listened this month.
