The Porsche 911 is one of the most iconic models of the automaker, and they are preparing 911 Sport Classic to be launched in 2023. This will be a limited edition that will have 1250 units worldwide, and is a remaster of the classic 911. The difference with the new 911 Turbo is the manual transmission, the new Turbo comes exclusively with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, but this Sport Classic is coming with manual transmission.
The brand has reduced the engine’s output to 543 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque and in order to ensure the twin-turbocharged 3.7-liter flat-six plays nice with the seven-speed gearbox. It means that this Sport Classic sacrifices the lofty straight-line acceleration capabilities of its Turbo kin at the altar of a more involving driving experience, but, at the same time, it maintains much of the dynamic competence of the Turbo on twisting tarmac.
Additional alterations include LED headlights with black housings and a Porsche crest that mimics the automaker’s 1963 design. It ditches the active aerodynamic equipment and side air intakes of its 911 Turbo, and it channels additional air into its engine bay by way of ducts mounted under the rear spoiler as a way of compensating for the missing holes in its sides. And the interior remembers like the classic Porsche 911, but, obviously, changing the screens making it more modern.
This model will be available during 2023, the exactly day has not been revealed, and customers able to outfit the car in one of four paint options: gray, black, dark gray, and blue. The price has not been said, but the 911 Turbo S is priced in $208,350, so we can expect it will cost this price more or less.
