Nicki Minaj explodes on social networks after considering unfair the rigor that judges have followed when excluding her song “Super Freaky Girl” from the rap category at the GRAMMY’s.
The singer has shown on Twitter on numerous occasions her disagreement with the jury of the awards since she considers that her song should be in the rap category and not in the one of pop.
To justify her argument Nicki “attacked” the rapper Latto through this social network. She wrote that she would have no problem with “Super Freaky Girl” being removed from the rap category only if it was done fairly. Here is where Latto’s “Big Energy”, comes in. Nicki Minaj believes this song should also be expelled from that category.
Shortly after the publication of this tweet Latto answered it and this ended up in a conversation between them by Direct Message. The fight did not end here because Minaj published a screenshot, which she then deleted, in which you could see how Latto said she agreed with her but that she had no right to mention her name to get what she wanted. In the caption of the tweet, the singer of Port Spain commented that Latto was a “karen” because she had been the first one to mention her name in many interviews. The rapper also complained about Latto saying that she was a big fan of her but instead of supporting her now she is shut up.
In response Latto wrote two tweets justifying herself for not having supported Nicki in which she said that since March she has been avoiding a lot of subliminal messages full of bullying talking about her. In this same tweet she stated that she did not want any kind of fight and that’s why she had written Minaj by direct message to fix things.
This controversy caused by the GRAMMYs triggered several more problems between the two rappers. In the following tweets Nicki expressed that Latto was angry because of the few sales that her last album had had and because she had refused to do a collaboration with her. Soon she received Latto’s reply in which she told her that it was never a problem for her not to have made the collaboration but that she could no longer wait for her to give her support.
Right now most of these tweets have been deleted by Nicki Minaj but even so there has not been a reconciliation between the two singers.
Nicki Minaj later justified herself before her fans explaining that she did not want to provoke any fight but that she continues thinking that she has the right to complain. She has worked a lot throughout her career and believes that she does not deserve this unfair treatment.
