The Irish band behind such musical icons as “Song For Someone“, U2 have faced a long and costly period without their drummer. However, the end of the mourning is here.
The band have announced the release of what will be their New studio album. Entitled “Songs Of Surrender“, the album is a re-recording of 40 of their famous songs, undergoing a major transformation. The Edge, the band’s singer and guitarist, explained that “music allows you to travel back in time and we were curious about what it would be like to bring our early songs to the present and give them a chance, or not, for a 21st century reinvention”.
With this, this new musical project will include great hits such as “With Or Without You” or “Beautiful Day” with different arrangements that will make these singles much more modern and adapted to the public and to current tastes.
However, these 40 modifications will not be recorded on a single album, but will be divided equally into four different albums that will be named after the names of the members of the band, which has been performing for almost 50 years, as the album complements “Surrender. 40 Songs, One History” , a memoir by Bono.
