Wisk Aero has been developing a sixth generation eVTOL aircraft and, until some months ago, the company has not revealed anything. But in an American TV program the general manager of the brand, Gary Gysin, has said some things about the aircraft. For example, he said that his autonomous aircraft will have four seats, so it can transport four passengers, and underline that they do not want to eliminate the driver at all, so it could be driven on autonomous or by a pilot.
About the passengers, Gysin told “they can be in verbal communication with the floor. They can speak with the pilot when they want, all designed to be the most comfortable it could be”. After this TV intervention, the company explained why Gysin made this aircraft with 4 seats: “the biggest seats configuration give more space for the passengers and the luggage, at the same time that it allows us to secure that we are creating an accessible service for the disability people. In addition to this advantages, the more capacity of our sixth generation aircrafts open the door to more uses in the future. A more usable load and more volume of the cabin will permit to give a better support to others applications and long period cases”.
At this moment, the company has not fixed a date to the certification of this autonomous vehicles, but informed that they want to have it aircraft ready to service in the 20 most crowded cities in the world in the next two decades. They said that they will show more information in the official presentation at the end of the year.
They pretend to be so cheap to transport on it, because they secured that with the autonomous technology of this car will help the passengers to be cheaper than other aircrafts like this one.
