With “Dream Track” you will be able to create new music from scratch with the help of the artificial intelligence. On this tool you can also use some voices from famous singers on your creations or edit some songs that already existed.
This YouTube tool is based on the Lyria, from Google DeepMind. The platform has decided to count with the support and collaboration of the artists. Besides that, is committed to additional testing with songwriters, producers and artists prior to official release.
All these measures come as a result of Bad Bunny‘s problem with the song NostalgIA. One user created a song using Bad Bunny’s voice and it went viral. That caused the upset of the singer that expressed his anger on his Social Media.
For this tool, “Dream Track”, YouTube has consent to use voices of singers such as T-Pain, Demi Lovato, Alec Benjamin, Charlie Puth, Charli XCX, John Legend, Papoose, Troye Sivan and Sia.
This feature can create tracks up to 30 seconds long. Users can generate audio clips simply with a brief indication of the genre, theme and style.
YouTube has also published “Music AI Tools”. This is a suite of utilities that allows users to generate instrumental tracks and vocal accompaniments from scratch, or even transform existing music into another style. You can work with this tool describing ideas by text or even using melodies that the Artificial Intelligence has to incorporate into the composition. By the moment this is actually in the experimental phase.
Moreover, to avoid problems with artists, YouTube has decided to incorporate to this pack “SynthID”. This is a special watermark that adds a layer of transparency and authenticity to the content generated by these new technologies. DeepMind explains, This “watermark is designed to maintain discoverability even when the audio content undergoes many common modifications”. They also said SynthID “converts the audio waveform into a two-dimensional visualization that shows how the frequency spectrum of a sound evolves over time.”
Sia has published this new opportunity on her Instagram Account. On a post she published recently, she wrote “Sia is thrilled to be a #YouTubePartnerTester on Dream Track, a brand-new experiment using artificial intelligence. Dream Track allows select creators to make 30-second clips using an artist’s AI generated voice for @youtube Shorts, with just a few words for the prompt – she can’t wait to hear the creations that are made using her voice!”
This creation might turn upside-down the music industry. Luckily, YouTube has thought seriously about the problems these tools may cause to the artists and has decided to incorporate them. The platform has decided to do the work patiently, so this can be the new viral music tool.
