The 23 years old singer and actress has announced it through her social media after keeping the pregnancy in secret.
Halle Bailey, who takes the leading role on “The Little Mermaid” has been dating the rapper DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) since the beginning of 2022. She started on the music industry on the hand of her sister with the duo “Chloe x Halle” and released their first album in 2018 called “The kids are alright”.
Last January 7 both, the rapper and the actress, published a post on Instagram announcing the arrival of their first baby. On the photo, we can see the hands of the both parents holding the baby’s hand. Besides, the baby has a bracelet on which you can read the name “Halo” engraved.
On her post, Halle Bailey wrote: “even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bringing me my son… welcome to the world my hal, the world is desperate to know you”
On the other side, DDG posted the same photo but was shorter in words. Darryl wrote “my biggest blessing by far son son… never been so in love. baby halo”
Both parents commented on each other posts. She wrote “super dad” followed by a red heart and DDG commented “super mum” and three red harts on the actress post. Besides them, lots of artists have jumped to the comment section to show love to the couple. Jade Thirlwall, from Little mix, HER, Amber Riley or Nicki Minaj are just n example of the support they have received.
The couple has decided to keep the pregnancy as a secret, so the news has shocked their fans and the media. There were pregnancy rumors after some paparazzi pictures of the couple walking where you could see her on baggy clothes.
Also, on a recent interview for British Vogue, Halle Bailey was asked about her relationship with DDG, and she answered “I like all the scary feelings that come with that. I like the suspense, not knowing what’s going to happen, and I feel like that’s what I’m supposed to experience in femininity.”
This unexpected baby, Halo, was born at the end of 2023 when the parents had been almost 2 years together. By the moment, they have decided not to show the baby’s face.
