It is not the first time that the mental health of artist Selena Gomez has caused a stir in the media.
With this, the artist decided to make a documentary about her life in which she showed the importance of mental health and explained her problems and disorders, including bipolar, depression or anxiety, as well as her experience with lupus. Everything that threatened her life and her desire to live it.
Selena mentioned her intentions from the beginning: to make society aware of the attention that these types of problems deserve and to help people who were going through the same thing.
With this, “My mind and Me”, her new documentary, seeks to normalize these disorders and educate future generations about them, highlighting her work and receiving the Inclusion Award, or Morton E. Ruderman Award, given by the Ruderman Family Foundation.
The 30-year-old artist has mentioned that “figuring out how to manage my mental health hasn’t always been easy, but it’s something I’m constantly working on and I hope I can help others work on that as well.”
With that, the president of the foundation, Jay Ruderman, has not hesitated for a moment in choosing her for this honorable award. Thus, Jay explains that “Drawing inspiration from her personal journey, Selena has given voice to the struggles of countless individuals who have endured mental health challenges, while working tirelessly to increase access to indispensable mental health resources and programs.”
The artist welcomes with much love and explains that “mental health affects each and every one of us, it has a role to play that everyone, regardless of their background, has access to mental health services.”
