During the conversation between the two women, topics such as the sexual abuse suffered by Thorne during her childhood and how she had been sexualized at the age of 10 by a director. After this, the protagonist of Shake it up confessed that when she was 14 years old Disney almost fired her for going to the beach in a bikini.
“I almost got fired from Disney Channel once because I was 14 and wearing a two-piece suit on the beach. This stylist I went with put me a decorative chain that is like a chain for the body. I don’t know? I don’t care” began the singer. “There was a fan, they took a picture of me on the beach. I almost got fired. I was all over the media, it was literally viral at the time. It was like, ‘How dare this girl do this?’ This is so disgusting,” Bella confessed.
She later added that she was called from Disney to tell her that they were getting a lot of complaints about her bikini photos on the beach. So if she wanted to continue working for them she could not repeat the scandal. They asked her that from that moment on she would always have to wear shorts and loose shirts to the beach.
Everything that happened was a shock to Bella but despite that this happened more than 10 years ago the actress continues to remember it as something horrible. She still doesn’t understand why people were so surprised when a little girl went to the beach in a bikini. She finds it disgusting that she was sexualized when she was so young.
