Film stars Penelope Cruz and Adam Driver take part in “Ferrari“, which promises to be the motorsports movie of the year
February 9th is the date for the world premiere in cinemas of Ferrari. The movie, starring Adam Driver known for his roles such as Kylo Ren in the Star Wars franchise and for joining Scarlett Johansson starring in Marriage Story. He will join Spanish global star Penélope Cruz as Enzo and Laura Ferrari. The movie is directed by Michael Mann and written by Troy Kennedy Martin. The plot is based on the 1991 biography Enzo Ferrari: The Man, the Cars, the Races, the Machine by motorsports journalist Brock Yates.
In addition to the main protagonist other members of the cast include Emmy winner Shailene Woodley as Enzo‘s lover Lina Lardi, Patrick Dempsey as the racing driver Piero Taruffi, Jack O’Connell as racing driver Peter Collins, Sarah Gadon as Linda Christian and Gabriel Leone as Fon De Portago. Another one of the great stars is Top Gear‘s “The Stig” Ben Collins as F1 and racing legend Stirling Moss.

In summer of 1957. Former racing driver Enzo Ferrari is in the middle of a crisis. Bankruptcy stalks the company that he and his wife, Laura, built from nothing ten years ago. Their marriage is also in the midst of a major crisis, as they deal with the death of their son. At this crucial stage, Enzo will make risky decisions by betting everything on a single race that crosses 1,000 miles throughout Italy: the Mille Miglia.
F1 fans might have an extra reason to watch
The movie couldn’t pick a better time to come out, whats also to keep in mind is that the Maranello-based car brand has been at the center of the global sports news as their F1 team signed 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton for the 2025 F1 season. This could make F1 and Hamilton fans interested in watching the film.
In addition to that pre-season also is a great time for a motorsports movie as fans wait for the Netflix documentary Drive to Survive and the season’s first GP in Bahrain which is only a few weeks away. Fans can be looking for motorsports content and this movie could be the right fit.
