The singer and actress suffered problems with her hair extensions while singing “Can’t get enough”
The program on February 3 has been controversial even before recording. After knowing that Jenifer López was going to be the guest singer and the host of the program was going to be the Latina Ayo Edebiri, social networks were filled with old comments between the two.
The comedian, Ayo Edebiri, spoke about JLo in a podcast in 2020 when the singer’s performance with Shakira at the Superbowl had been announced. In it he said things like “I think she thinks she’s still good even though she doesn’t sing on most of the songs.” In addition, she pointed out that the career of the actress from The Mother was “a long scam.”
Estos comentarios han sido constantes a lo largo de la carrera de la chica del Bronx y ella nunca ha sentido que permaneciese al mundo de la música desde pequeña, como explicaba en su documental de Netflix: “My sister was the singer and my other sister was the smart one. I could be the athlete or the dancer, but not the singer or the intelligent one. “I always had that in my head,” she recalled. “So when someone asked me, ‘Can you sing?’, my answer was ‘no.’”
Edebiri referred to his past comments by singing a sort of “mea culpa” saying: “It is wrong to leave malicious comments or post comments to appear or make a statement on a podcast and not take into account the impact because you are 24 years old and stupid. But I think I speak for everyone when I say that from now on, we will think better before posting.”
Throughout the program Jenifer López sang twice, being introduced by Ayo. On the first occasion she sang dressed in a modern suit with a cropped jacket and relaxed fit pants. It was on this occasion, while tasting her single “Can’t get enough” that the singer had a mishap with her hair extensions. However, after realizing the problem and very professionally, he included as part of the choreography tearing them off and throwing them on the floor to avoid problems later in the performance.
This performance full of energy with constant choreography that accompanied the rhythm of the song ended up surprising when Latto and REDMAN, the song’s featured artists on the remix of the song published last week, appeared on stage.
In addition to this presentation, the “On the Floor” singer returned to the Saturday Night Live stage to perform another of the songs from her future album. This time she appeared with a beautiful dress made of pink flowers that reach the floor, covering her body. This more intimate and romantic proposal matched the song whose name we still don’t know.
Jenifer López‘s album is expected for next month and the singer promises to continue giving us content constantly until we can enjoy the content in between, which is expected to be a romantic project dedicated to her great love Ben Affleck.
