Colombian artist Karol G swept the third edition of the Tu Música Urbano Awards last Thursday, winning no less than nine awards. A feat with which she far surpassed the artists who topped the nominations.
The show was held at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, and of all the awards that the artist received the main and most notable were Artist of the Year, Album of the Year Female Artist for KG0516 and Video of the Year for El Makinon.
Once again we are faced with a female triumph, since in this edition of the Tu Música Urbano Awards the protagonists were women. The gala was broadcast live on Telemundo channel and another of the artists who stood out the most was Becky G, who won four awards in the categories Top Female Artist, Collaboration of the Year for Mamiii, Top Urban Tropical Song for Fulanito and Video of the Year for Ram Pam Pam.
Although back to the successes of La Bichota (as Karol G is known), the awards received at the gala are proof of the talent of the artist, who continues to work every day to bring us great songs like Provenza, which looks like it will soon become one of the hits of this summer.
The song was released at the end of April this year, and from the moment it was published on all music platforms, it has been the hit it promised to be. The video clip has more than 240 million views on YouTube and Billboard has positioned it in the top 5 best songs of the year. Although, of course, it should also be noted that over the months the success has been reinforced, as it is now in the number 3 position of the most popular music videos on the Internet.
What is more than clear is that if Karol G has triumphed in the Premios Tu Música Urbano is because she is an artist from head to toe, who conquers everyone with her music and has climbed to become a queen in her musical genre.
