Patrick Mahomes says Chiefs’ victory is the start of a dynasty
Chief‘s quarterback Patrick Mahomes is ready to call his team a dynasty after winning back-to-back Super Bowl championships. “It’s the beginning of a dynasty. We’re not done,” Mahomes said immediately after the game. “I know we’re going to celebrate tonight, celebrate with the parade on Wednesday in Kansas City, but we’re not done. We have a young team. “We’re going to continue with this.” It’s the Chief‘s third Super Bowl championship in five years, and they have played deep into the postseason in each of Mahomes‘ six years as their leader. It’s hard to argue with a resume like that.
The effort earned Mahomes his third Super Bowl MVP award. With a fourth down in overtime in his own half of the field, Mahomes ran for the necessary yard and kept the team’s momentum going. In the next series of opportunities, He made a decisive throw on the run to convert third down. And then came his biggest move of the game: a huge 19-yard run up the middle to the San Francisco 13-yard line. The Kansas City Chiefs player was getting it on the ground, leading his team to victory like so many other times this season. He finished it off with a short pass to receiver Mecole Hardman for a victory-earning touchdown.
Usher got everyone on their feet on his Halftime-Show concert
The duel between Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers took a backseat for 15 minutes. Through a celebration full of showgirls, dancers and acrobats in the style of Cirque du Soleil, Usher took over the Allegiant Stadium, in Las Vegas, Nevada, to deliver an electrifying performance during the Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show.
Of course, Taylor Swift got her well-deserved amount of the spotlight
The main event for non-football fans was not the Halftime show like in previous years, the main event was her. Taylor Swift watched the game wearing a custom 87 (Travis Kelce‘s number) necklace. Not his initial on a chain ’round her neck, but close enough. First, she entered the arena with her most recent confidant and Karma remix featured artist Ice Spice. Swift greeted Travis‘ brother Jason. She later joined all time close friends Blake Lively and Lana del Rey.
After the game, she jumped to the playing field to see her boyfriend and celebrate together with the team. Some fans might say Taylor Swift won her first Superbowl last night.
